Training Opportunities

Join me in Summer 2010!  I lowered my rates a lot to make these sessions more affordable ! I want you to be the first to see my new workshop.

This is only the beginning! We are working towards holding more training sessions, occuring bi-monthly, depending on customer response to this first training event.

My training sessions will be held during a two-week period. Two days per week will be devoted to each of the two sessions. The dates will be flexible and may change depending on customer feedback. More information will be made available as the date approaches. Please email me if a particular week works for you and I will do my best to accommodate your schedule.

Please email me with any additional training questions you may have.
I want to help you reach your goals! Fill out our contact information page to help me answer your questions about copper roofing training sessions.

I hope to see you in the Spring!

Considerations will include:

  • Pitch requirements; decking specifications; underlayment
  • Planning and layout - how to order a complete roof system to minimize waste
  • Panel dimensioning and pretinning - how to dip panels before they are installed, cleat dipping and layout
  • Starter row to finish row - step-by-step layout and installation
  • Seam locking and flattening - the art of producing an airtight joint ready for soldering
  • The soldering process - preparing your iron head, the use of fluxes, flat joints, sloping joints and vertical joints
Each participant will spend hours of supervised soldering from the basic to the most challenging.
We will build a real roof in the lab, not merely solder a few pieces of copper together.
