fastening your cleat spacing, hand or power nailing, and the use of hand or power seam locking tools
- Planning and installation of pole gutter systems - including pitch, scuppers, expansion joints, length of panels
- Installation of double lock valleys on eaves and dormers
- Installation of ridge, traditional
rolled and contemporary capped hip, and rake pieces
- Head wall flashings for sidings or masonry
applications
- Wall details and finish work
- Use of roller bending
tools, curves for sweep bay roofs, barrel dormer options, and much more!
My Rates
You have three options:
1) In-shop training: my shop in Pottstown, PA
My rate for training
is $250- per man per day plus accommodating a minimum of three men, with no charge for managers and/or owners to sit in. This
includes: putting together a mock-up 4x8 standing seam copper roof complete with edge details and pole-gutter, head wall details,
ridge and valley details; soldering irons for three mechanics to use in practicing pole gutter joints and vertical joints;
a manual on SS roof construction for each trained man and one for the company. I can accommodate a maximum of five men at
one time.
2) In-shop training: your shop
( hosting shop to provide 4 X 8 3/4" deck to mount panels to )
You and/or your men will
be receiving the same training that I offer in my Pottstown, PA shop at the rate of $300- per man per day. There
is also a $250- charge for the tools and materials for this course. Our travel expense charges are $300- plus $.50 / mile

3)
On-the-job training
This rate is $950- per day plus initial travel to the location at $.50 per mile one way. I will work up to five days with your men on the job as a subcontractor, training them while I work. I carry my own
liability insurance.
Considerations

- Planning and layout - how to order a complete roof system to minimize
waste
- Panel dimensioning and pretinning - how to dip panels before they are installed, cleat
dipping and layout
- Starter row to finish row - step-by-step layout and installation
- Seam locking and flattening - the art of producing an airtight joint ready for soldering
- The
soldering process - preparing your iron head, the use of fluxes, flat joints, sloping joints and vertical joints
Each participant will spend hours of supervised soldering from the basic to the most challenging.
We will build a real roof in the lab, not merely solder a few pieces of copper together.
I
will make our tools available to you including: express soldering irons with various tip options; wooden, plastic, and other
mallets; solders and fluxes, etc.
My Rates
